SMART Board
I like the idea behind the SMART board, but I would never invest in one. There are too many glitches. I am sure that in five years they will come out with a better and more technologically advanced SMART board. I would rather project my laptop on the screen. There may be no problems with classroom management so far, but once kids become more familiar they will get bored. The SMART board lessons that I came across were very basic.

I think you make an excellent point about there being new programs that will be invented. If my school already had a smart board, I would use it and make the most of it. I think it would be fun the kids once I got the hang of how to use it to its fullest potential. However, I would not spend the money on it. An effective teacher will find ways to be creative and engaging even if the specific technology is not available.
I agree with you. Currently I do not think that the SMART board is the greatest thing out there. I get confused and overwhelmed by even attempting to work with the board.
